StreamTrove legal
Terms of Service
Last updated 20 August 2026 · Squirrel AS, org. nr. 931 987 291, Bøgata 25B, 0655 Oslo, Norway · hello@streamtrove.tv
These terms are the agreement between you and Squirrel AS (org. nr. 931 987 291, Bøgata 25B, 0655 Oslo, Norway — “we”, “us”) for your use of StreamTrove: our website, apps, and related services. By creating an account or using StreamTrove you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. What StreamTrove is
StreamTrove helps you decide which streaming services to subscribe to and which to cancel. You tell us what you watch and want to watch; we show where titles stream, compute the cheapest set of services that covers your list, remind you before renewals, guide you through cancellations, and track the savings.
StreamTrove is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, or any other streaming provider. Their names and logos belong to their owners and appear only to identify where content streams. Your subscriptions with streaming providers are contracts between you and them, on their terms.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use StreamTrove.
- Sign-in is through Google, Apple, or an email link. Keep access to your sign-in method secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
- You can delete your account at any time by contacting hello@streamtrove.tv (or in-app where available). Deletion removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
3. Free service and paid plans
The core service is free. If you buy a paid plan, checkout and billing are handled by our reseller Paddle as merchant of record — Paddle’s checkout shows the full price including any VAT, handles invoices and refunds, and its terms apply to the purchase. Paid plans renew until cancelled; you can cancel anytime, effective at the end of the paid period.
Right of withdrawal (angrerett). As a consumer in Norway or the EEA you may withdraw from a purchase within 14 days without giving a reason, by contacting us or Paddle. If you ask for a digital service to start immediately, you acknowledge that you pay for the value delivered before withdrawal. Nothing in these terms limits your mandatory rights under Norwegian consumer law, including the Consumer Purchases Act and the Cancellation Act (angrerettloven).
4. Recommendations, prices, and savings figures
- Streaming availability, catalog, and price data come from third parties and the providers themselves, and can be incomplete or out of date. Always check price and availability with the provider before relying on them.
- Savings figures are estimates based on listed subscription prices and your own actions. They are informational, not a financial promise.
- Our recommendations are automated suggestions to help you decide. They are not financial advice, and you remain responsible for your subscription decisions.
5. Autopilot and Autopay
In the current version, Autopilot is a simulation. It shows which subscribe/cancel actions the optimizer would take and keeps an audit log, but it does not move money, does not contact streaming providers, and does not change any real subscription. Cancelling remains something you do with the provider — we link you to the right page and show the steps.
Where we launch real payment features (a prepaid balance and virtual cards that pay streaming providers for you), they will be provided together with a licensed payment or e-money institution and will have their own additional terms, presented to you for acceptance before you can activate them. Those features are not part of this agreement until you accept those terms.
6. Bank connections (Radar)
Where available, you can connect a bank account read-only so StreamTrove can spot subscription charges and price changes. The connection is made through a regulated account-information provider; we receive transaction information, never the ability to move your money. Connecting is optional and you can disconnect at any time.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law or infringe others’ rights using the service;
- probe, overload, scrape, or interfere with the service or access it with automated means other than public interfaces we provide;
- misrepresent who you are, or resell the service without our agreement.
8. Sponsored content
Some placements in StreamTrove are paid promotions. They are always marked with a sponsored indicator. Advertisers get aggregate statistics only — see the Privacy Policy — and advertising on StreamTrove is governed by the Advertising Terms.
9. Intellectual property and feedback
StreamTrove, including its software, design, and content we created, belongs to Squirrel AS or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive right to use the service. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without obligation to you.
10. Availability and changes
We work to keep StreamTrove available but do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features; if a change materially reduces a paid plan, we will notify you and you may cancel with a pro-rated refund of the unused period. We may update these terms — for material changes we will give notice in the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect, and continued use after that means acceptance.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, create risk for other users or for us, or where the law requires it. Where reasonable we will warn you first.
12. Liability
We are liable under the general rules of Norwegian law. Except where liability cannot be limited by law (including for gross negligence, intent, or your mandatory consumer rights), we are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability for the free service is limited to NOK 1,000 and for paid plans to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not responsible for the acts, prices, availability, or content of streaming providers.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes can be brought before the ordinary Norwegian courts with Oslo District Court as agreed venue — or, if you are a consumer in another EEA country, before your home courts with your mandatory local protections intact. Consumers in Norway can also seek guidance and mediation from the Norwegian Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet, forbrukerradet.no).
